Rodeo family member Richard Traylor needs our help.

As team ropers we all have tough years. Bad steers, broken barriers, slipped legs-- they all can make a good year go bad quickly. For multiple-time PRCA southeastern circuit qualifier, multiple-time IFR qualifier, and three-time and current PCA champion header, Richard Traylor, of Poplarville, MS, 2010 is proving to be his toughest year yet.

In mid-december Richard suffered a seizure. After multiple tests doctors found spots on his brain. Unable to diagnose his condition, they sent him home and told him to return in a month for further test. On February 1 his greatest fears were confirmed--the doctors greatly suspected cancer. They were told the prognosis was not good -- incurable, non-surgical and very life-threatening. Devastated Richard, and his family sent his records to MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, TX, praying for a miracle. Within only one day MD Anderson phoned with the glimmer of hope so many had prayed for -- confirming the diagnosis, the experts there believe it is surgical and treatable and feel they can be of great help. They immediatly scheduled an appointment for Wednesday, February 10 and surgery for Friday, February 12.

As we all know, good news can carry a dark cloud. The dark cloud here is this:  Richard, like many of us, is uninsured. Faced with enormous medical bills, it is impossible for him to tackle this giant on his own. He faces a medical procedure costing over $100,000 and is required to pay over $17,000 when he walks through the doors of MD Anderson just to consult with the doctors there. In short, he desperately needs his fellow team ropers' help. A special account has been set up in his name at BankPlus in Poplarville for donations, and 100% of all donations will go toward his medical care. Richard, his wife Carmen, and their two young children would so greatly appreciate any and all donations. They can be made directly at the bank, or call Sylvia at (601)403-2244 for information on money transfers to this account.  Additionally checks can be made out to Richard Traylor and mailed to:
